We talked about it in Goiania, then after Jorge Martin’s Friday accident in Barcelona and we wrote it with even greater force after the shocking race Sunday: it is no longer time to skip the Safety Commission and be fatalistic, we must act sooner rather than later. Especially after the several wild cards drawn recently.

Pedro Acosta is skeptical
On the sidelines of Monday’s tests in Barcelona, Pedro Acosta returned to the criticism of the third start: “My opinion remains the same, there was no need for a third race. The lap done in the second restart would have been enough and we could have earned half the points. We challenged fate, if there were two such serious accidents, there is no need for a third. I still think that way.”
On Sunday Pedro Acosta was open to the presence in the Safety Commission at Mugello (and the Spaniard had previously commented that he was too busy to attend), but yesterday he seemed skeptical about the real effectiveness of an association among riders: “If one stops, the other 20 must stop too… But if one is fighting for the world championship, fighting for the dream of his life and realistically will not want to give it up… If they had told me 2 hours before the race on a weekend when I am doing well, I would have wanted to race. You have to understand that we riders, even if it doesn’t seem so, are quite egocentric. You always look for an opportunity to get ahead.”
