Martin knows the storm is coming
Jorge Martin with an ‘ant-like’ attitude goes on vacation as the World Championship leader, but the Spaniard is well aware that the ‘storm’ Marquez will be difficult to contain.
The nine-time world champion and reigning world champion, in poor physical condition in the last four races, has won three GPs and two Sprints. In just over 40 days Marquez has removed a zero reducing his gap from around a hundred points to less than two dozen.
Aprilia sees the ‘avalanche’ about to hit and at the moment the stronghold is Jorge Martin who has his bags packed. The 2024 world champion was very frank to the microphones of DAZN in describing what the soon-to-be-divided pair must try to do.

“Aprilia knows it needs me and I know I need them – said Martin – if we want to compete with Marquez and Ducati we have to stay united even if things have not been easy because of what happened in Hungary and also because of what happened last year. I feel they are helping me to find my speed again. Only in this way will we have a chance. The positive thing is that the other Aprilias are going strong, we will work to try to find what I am missing. Only by finding my speed again will I be able to try to play my cards until the end.”
