Respect and admiration between Marc and Diogo

In the Mugello Sprint, an unexpected duel took place, that between Marc Marquez and Diogo Moreira. The Honda LCR rider made an excellent start and then at the entrance of Materassi-Borgo San Lorenzo overtook the nine-time world champion, moving up to third position.

“I had told him that we would be close and besides, Diogo had warned me that he would overtake me at least once”, Marc Marquez said smiling at the end of the Sprint. “I don’t know when he will retire – Moreira’s explanation – so I took the opportunity because I wanted a photo of me overtaking him“.

“Diogo has a lot of talent and rides the Honda very well, he will have a great future”, added Marc Marquez with Moreira concluding: “It’s always nice to fight with the top riders”. We will see if in today’s GP there will even be a ‘rematch’ between the two.
