Sprint Mugello, Bezzecchi settles for P4
Marco Bezzecchi today ignited the enthusiasm of Mugello by conquering pole position and setting the track record. The Romagnolo, author of an impressive time this morning, arrived at the Sprint as the natural favorite, but he was unable to translate the speed shown in the single lap into the final result: due to a poor start, in which he got stuck in traffic.

While limiting the damage with fourth place, Bez hoped and thought to get more from the Sprint at the Scarperia circuit, but he can console himself with the confirmation of having an excellent pace (he was at the pace of the best after overtaking Marc Marquez and Diogo Moreira) and at least a podium potential for tomorrow’s race.
Bezzecchi’s words
“The braking at the first corner affected me a lot, I braked a little too early. I got distracted trying to close Raul a bit, then I didn’t find the right braking point,” this is the comment from Bez to Sky Sport MotoGP. “As for the tire, both were good and could allow a nice Sprint.”

“Tomorrow will be tough, because 23 laps here are really torture, in the sense that it is physically demanding. And then it will be hot,” he added. “For the race, we need to understand which tire to choose, because both are good, and then try to make a better strategy to get to the first corner. I am optimistic because I didn’t suffer too much with the front despite being behind other bikes. When after corner-1 I was sixth or seventh, I told myself I would cook the front immediately, but it didn’t go that way, I expected to suffer more.”
