MotoGP Barcelona, the test report
The Barcelona tests ended 90 minutes early after a downpour hit Montmeló at lunchtime and no team tried in the afternoon. Therefore, the times from the morning remain, with Pedro Acosta confirming himself very fast on a single lap: best time for the Spaniard in 1:38.767, while Fabio Quartararo chases at 64 thousandths. Three KTMs in the top four positions, thanks to the Tech3 duo (Enea Bastianini third at 117 thousandths, Maverick Viñales fourth).

Francesco Bagnaia closes the top 10 with a half-second gap, followed by Marco Bezzecchi. Also in the tests, evidently, the World Championship leader does not find the right setup, after a Catalan weekend marked by suffering. Besides the injured Marquez brothers and Johann Zarco, Fabio Di Giannantonio also does not participate in the tests: today the GP winner stayed resting as a precaution after being involved in the terrible accident of Alex Marquez with his left hand.
Little action on track also for Jorge Martin, who was involved in the sixth crash in four days. The Spaniard was assisted and taken to hospital for checks on his left elbow and right leg: fortunately only bruises and no fractures.

On the technical side, notable is the “elephant ear” fairing with high diffusers that Aprilia had Martin try (Bezzecchi had already tested it in Jerez). Yamaha also focused on that area with comparison work: a new quadruplane shape for Fabio Quartararo, a “triplane” for Toprak Razgatlioglu, and a bowtie shape for Jack Miller. Honda brought a new fairing, tested by Luca Marini.
