Twenty-four hours after the great scare, a new challenge begins for Johann Zarco. The Honda LCR rider left the Hospital Universitari General de Catalunya this afternoon and will return to France: tomorrow he will see Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet, who operates in Lyon and is one of the most renowned orthopedic surgeons in the world. Specializing in the management of severe knee injuries, he has been chosen by several footballers for post-injury rehabilitation: he operated on Juventus Brazilian defender Gleison Bremer after the rupture of the left cruciate ligament during the Champions League match against Leipzig, in 2024.

The Frenchman, involved in the serious accident at the second start of the Catalonia GP, suffered a tear to the ligaments of the left knee and a small fracture at the base of the fibula. As communicated by the Cecchinello team, tomorrow’s tests will help understand the next steps of the recovery.
