A poker of crashes
Jorge Martin arrived in Barcelona in great shape after the recent victory in Le Mans and after reducing the gap to the world championship leader, his Aprilia teammate Marco Bezzecchi, to just 1 point.
But so far the Montmelò weekend has been anything but smooth for Jorge Martin, who suffered several crashes between Friday and Saturday. First two slides on Friday – one of which was quite dangerous –, then the one on Saturday in qualifying and finally the Sprint, the most painful in terms of points.

How is Martin?
Martin himself updated on his health conditions to the Spanish reporters of Dazn: “I’m fine, I have some bruises everywhere and a couple of ankle sprains. But nothing that prevents me from racing.”
In short, Martin is okay but not at his best: “I have an excellent team of physiotherapists and doctors who will help me be at my best. This weekend I will be at 80% but I will still give my best”.
The Spaniard is determined to leave behind the two bad days, to bounce back ahead of the Grand Prix: “The important thing is to get back to basics, that is to ride. But the Aprilia works. On Friday we struggled, but once again with our working method we managed to recover. The important thing is to keep going like this”, Martin concluded.
