Race report

After Bulega’s fifth consecutive Superpole (he has obtained all the pole positions of this championship), the race immediately started with a scare for Petrucci: declared fit to race just for this weekend, the BMW rider crashed heavily in turn 13, with the first Medical Center reports showing a contusion to the lower back and left hip. Currently in hospital for further examinations, the race (which Alvaro Bautista did not participate in, declared unfit for this weekend after three fractures to his right foot following a crash in FP3) was immediately suspended after the accident, with the race shortened by one lap. At the restart, Bulega maintained the lead ahead of Montella, who was faster than Lecuona at the red lights going out. However, already on the fourth lap, the Spaniard overtook the Campanian rider, starting to gradually reduce the gap to Bulega. Ten laps later, the chase ended with an attack on the teammate, followed by an attempt to pull away from #11. A mission that, despite the attempt to pull away, failed: in the final stages, in fact, the world championship leader caught up with Lecuona, returning to first place and holding it until the checkered flag.
