The veils have been lifted from a new Ferrari from the One-Off series, the ultimate expression of the Special Projects program, during the Ferrari Racing Days hosted at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas. The car, named HC25, represents a work born under the direction of the Ferrari Design Studio, with Flavio Manzoni as the creative guide. It is presented as a V8 internal combustion engine with a mid-rear engine layout. Although based on the F8 Spider, from which it inherits layout, chassis, and thermal engine, the HC25 clearly departs from the idea of a simple evolution. Instead, it becomes an original proposal, tailored to the choices of a customer seeking the pinnacle of customization of the Prancing Horse.
The new Ferrari HC25
At the center of everything is a bold reinterpretation of the shapes and aesthetic codes of Ferrari mid-rear engine spiders, reinterpreted with a disruptive attention focused on the future. The new car is based on the F8 Spider platform, the last open-top in the Prancing Horse’s path to mount the non-hybrid turbo V8 in a mid-rear position. But it decisively overturns its language. The goal is to maintain the typical sensuality of Maranello’s models, with evident muscles at the wheels and a style echo recalling the shape code of the F80. At the same time, the HC25 acts as a link between the end of a technical season and the arrival at a more advanced vision, in tune with the prospects opened by Ferrari with its peaks like the 12Cylinders and the F80.
Open-top based on F8 Spider
Formally, the HC25 imposes a strong graphic imprint thanks to the double volume and a play of visual interlocks where front and rear act as two distinct bodies. They are joined by a central connecting band, enveloping and three-dimensional, which appears as a functional black ribbon. It is not just an aesthetic element but incorporates the essence of thermal management, connected to the air intake towards the radiating masses and the evacuation of heat generated by the heart of the car, the powertrain. It is precisely this continuity between form and function that makes this One-Off an exercise in coherence. The eye “reads” the design, while the project “tells” the dynamics and the technology.

Exclusive and coherent style
The overall style is powerful and assertive, because the side builds its momentum with an arrow movement of the band. From the base of the rear wheels, it is oriented towards the front and then curves vertically on the door until it reaches a sculpted and deliberately integrated handle. From there, the flow restarts backward merging into the rear window. It is a dynamic that seems to push the rear muscles and transfer the cabin’s energy forward. The proportions also work finely to limit the impact of the glazing and visually lower the silhouette. The headlights fit into the design without altering it, with a new front solution in ad hoc modules, characterized by a very thin lens and a central indentation, and DRL set vertically for the first time, exploiting the front edge of the fenders creating a boomerang shape. Completing the identity is the contrast between the matte Moonlight Grey color and the glossy black band. But also the yellow details that interact with the cabin and the five-spoke wheels with diamond-cut rim and double hollow belt.
