What Zarco at Le Mans
The 2025 victory was greeted with great surprise, and justified by the wet race. And, with weather still predicting rain this weekend, some have forecasted another competitive Johann Zarco. The Frenchman, however, has shown he can be very fast even on dry, helped by a Honda that at Le Mans seems to have a different pace than usual.

The rider of Lucio Cecchinello’s team led the Practice session at the “Bugatti”, ahead by ten thousandths of Fabio Di Giannantonio, and now proudly claims the status of “contender” for a top-3, if not for the victory.

Zarco’s words
“I am pleased with this result on dry. For a week all the fans and all the journalists have been watching the weather, seeing that there might be rain, and encouraging me. But today on dry there was still a nice response, I want to be there also in normal conditions“, this was the comment to Sky Sport MotoGP.
“If we found something for the race in the tests? Only the race will tell. In the tests we tried to better ‘set’ the bike, because there won’t be new things, since now the Honda project is focused on the 850“, he added. “However, having a fairly good base helps to work with a calmer mind. At Jerez we did this and here we started quite well, I tried two or three things and more or less we are there. We will see if we will be there also with used tires: if I manage to get the front row I will have an opportunity for the podium at least in the Sprint“.
