Chaos in the first laps

There was no shortage of chaos and confusion in the first laps of the Miami GP. After Max Verstappen’s spin at the start, miraculously avoiding accidents, the contacts that led to the Safety Car deployment came a few laps later: during the seventh lap, in fact, first Isack Hadjar crashed into the wall due to his own mistake and then there was a dangerous collision at turn 17 involving Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly. The New Zealander attempted an inside attack but ended up hitting the Frenchman’s Alpine, causing a dangerous rollover that ended against the Tecpro barriers protecting that part of the track.

Both drivers were obviously forced to retire but the most important news is that Gasly managed to get out of the car on his own, showing he was fine and did not suffer any physical problems in the accident. The incident was then put under investigation by the stewards who, however – given the double retirement of the two protagonists – will evaluate the event at the end of the GP to decide on any possible sanction against the Racing Bulls driver.
