In the fiftieth year of GTI history, Volkswagen presents for the world premiere the first images and details of the new ID.3 GTI. ID obviously means electric: it is the most powerful production GTI model ever made. The German company has defined it as an idea of sportiness that keeps the DNA of the legendary badge intact, but translates it in a contemporary key, with the strength and immediacy typical of electric drive models.

The new Volkswagen ID.3 GTI
At the heart of the GTI dynamics is the power of the electric motor, which develops 240 kW (326 hp) on the rear axle. Numbers that, in real driving, turn into thrilling accelerations: the ID.3 GTI goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, and can boast a maximum torque of 545 Nm available in a particularly generous way to push decisively in every condition. Added to this is a high level of propulsion system efficiency and a range that exceeds 600 km, making sportiness compatible with everyday use.
True GTI performance
The true GTI technologies are not just an accessory, but a package of tools dedicated to driving. Think of the adaptive sport suspension DCC, the direct progressive steering, Launch Control, and a new GTI mode that helps make the car immediate and engaging. Also, the presence of functional details designed to emphasize the response at start and precision in corners strengthens the model’s identity.

Over 600 km of range
The aesthetic language and the interior complete the GTI experience in a recognizable way. At the front stands out a new horizontal red line, while the 20″ Wörthersee wheels and the historic Tornado Red color enhance the “icon” component. Inside, the premium sport seats, the rear seats with “Superclark” checkered pattern, the specific GTI instrumentation, the red contrast stitching, and the sport steering wheel with red marking at 12 o’clock clearly convey the spirit of the range. The overview is completed by high travel comfort and surprising spaciousness. The pre-sale of the new ID.3 GTI will start early next year.
