Another category jump
The MotoGP teams are preparing for this weekend’s event in Austria, but Tech3 has meanwhile completed its line-up for the next season: after the announcement of Luca Marini, currently with Honda, the French team has officially confirmed Senna Agius, who, like Daniel Holgado, will come from Moto2.
The realization of a dream
The 20-year-old Australian entered the MotoGP feeder series in 2022, although participating in few races, as well as in 2023, the year he became European Moto2 champion. From 2024 his presence remained stable, with a total of four wins and further podiums that convinced Tech3 to promote him to MotoGP for the next world championship: “Today a dream I have nurtured all my life came true: reaching MotoGP. Behind this moment are years of hard work and I am incredibly grateful to Guenther (Steiner) and the entire Tech3 team for believing in me and giving me this opportunity – said an emotional Agius – I can’t wait to repay their trust. I am aware of the challenge ahead, but I am ready to learn, work hard, and become the best version of myself with this team. A special thanks to my family, friends, and everyone who has supported me and made sacrifices along my journey. I would also like to thank all the teams, engineers, and mechanics I have worked with over the years: they all contributed to getting me here. I can’t wait to start and make everyone proud.”

The move from Moto2 to MotoGP represents an important moment both for the rider and the team, but for the CEO of Tech3, Günther Steiner, it is obviously the right decision: “We believe Senna has the qualities to take an important step towards MotoGP – he commented – he has shown impressive speed and maturity in Moto2, but what really impressed us was his determination to keep improving and his attitude towards the work needed to succeed. We are building a team for a new era of MotoGP and wanted to combine experience and young talents. Senna represents an exciting part of this future. We know he will have a lot to learn, but we are ready to support him on this journey. We are very pleased to welcome him to Tech3 and look forward to seeing him grow with us.”
Qualities that also impressed Nicolas Goyon, Team Manager of Tech3: “During his Moto2 career, Senna has shown he possesses both the speed and the mindset necessary to face this new challenge. He is still young, so there is great growth potential to develop together, and we are excited to be part of the next phase of his career. Debuting in MotoGP with completely new regulations and bikes will be a big challenge for every rider, but it also gives us the opportunity to build something together from the start. Senna has a great desire to learn, works hard, and has already shown he can fight at the top positions.
