Everyone amazed by Max
The thrilling performance of Max Verstappen at the recent 24 Hours of Nurburgring, despite an unfortunate ending, sparked the interest of other F1 drivers. Fernando Alonso, who can perfectly relate to the rival’s feelings, emphasized: “It was great, but you need luck because it doesn’t depend only on you“, Carlos Sainz admitted “to have read news and watched videos of the event”, George Russell was open to racing endurance himself: “Never say never, Max is obviously one of the greatest“, while Isack Hadjar confessed: “It was great to watch, I followed it until 2 a.m., it’s something wild”.

Another 24 hours for Verstappen?
In the long interview given to De Telegraaf, Max Verstappen returned to the recent experience on the Nordschleife: “There’s a lot of action. They seem like pure races, the overtakes don’t seem artificial. It’s a brutal and ruthless race. It also depends a bit on the type of circuit. In F1 we race on beautiful tracks but also on less prestigious ones”.
Certainly, Max plans to try again: “This year I don’t think I’ll do other races outside the Nordschleife. The 24 Hours of Daytona? I would have to adjust my entire training plan, because in January I start preparing for the new season. I should talk about it with my family, but for now it’s an idea, even if not concrete. I have plenty of time to think about it and I would really like to do it with a GT3, not in the GTP class. And if in 2027 the 24 Hours of Nurburgring falls on a weekend without F1, I would like to race it again”.
