The Dutchman will race with a Mercedes GT3
“I want to do them now that I have the perfect age, not at 40”. Max Verstappen in a press conference on the eve of the Chinese GP emphasized that he has no intention of waiting long to complete the ‘collection’ of legendary endurance races in the motorsport landscape.
The Dutch driver will start this year by participating in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring in May at the wheel of a Mercedes GT3. “It is one of the most beautiful races and circuits in the world – Verstappen added – furthermore, with that type of car and performance, the speed is perfect; if it went faster, it would be dangerous. I have many friends who have already participated in that race and they all told me it’s incredible”.
In addition to the Ring, Verstappen’s goal is to participate as soon as possible in the 24 Hours of Spa and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. F1 at this moment feels ‘tight’ for the Red Bull driver, who wants to have some “nice distractions” as he himself defined them.
