One against 100
The 2026 Formula 1 season is proving to be quite complicated for Max Verstappen, who is currently only sixth in the Drivers’ Championship and has not yet managed to secure a single win this year. However, the Dutchman, who had already dabbled in GT races in the first part of the year, will have a new challenge, quite a special one, waiting for him on the horizon.
Red Bull has in fact officially announced a special event scheduled at Silverstone on September 16 that will have the four-time F1 world champion as the absolute protagonist. The show is called ‘Max vs 100’, will be broadcast exclusively on Disney+ and ESPN App, and will see Verstappen engaged in a particularly unique kart race against 100 opponents.
Max will start from the back with the goal of overtaking each of the 100 challengers in one of the largest – literally – kart races ever seen in the world. Verstappen, who as a kid was a true superstar in karting, will challenge 100 competitors selected by Red Bull and coming from the most diverse backgrounds: there will be Red Bull athletes from other disciplines, content creators, public figures, and simple enthusiasts from all over the world. The Dutch champion and his 100 rivals will race on a track designed and built specifically for the occasion by race director and French driver David Terrien, a renowned kart designer and youth karting world champion.

A special circuit
“Creating a track to race 100 drivers simultaneously has never been done before – said Terrien – so it is really exciting to be part of this event. Seeing Max Verstappen chasing everyone will be an unforgettable experience for all the drivers. We will see Max showcase all his skills: he will have to manage traffic, trying to prepare and plan the points to overtake, speeding through opponents at the highest possible speed to prevent the drivers ahead from pulling away.”
