The Ferrari seen at the Australian Grand Prix can justify some optimism from the fans of the Red team, who have been waiting for a world title since 2008, when Maranello triumphed among the constructors.

“It seems that everyone has forgotten how close we came to the constructors’ championship in 2024“, Vasseur emphasized, continuing: “I remind you that everything was decided at the last race in Abu Dhabi. And if the mini DRS had been banned earlier, perhaps we would have won the world championship“.
The French manager’s reference is to the McLaren rear wing issue from two years ago, banned during the season by the FIA.

And with the SF-26, Vasseur ensured that they moved in full harmony with the Federation: “With a new regulation there are many gray areas, which can be interpreted in different ways and therefore it is important to clarify with the FIA. It is part of our job to ask for clarification, to be sure of respecting the rules. Our approach was constructive, positive and correct. We have always raised our hand to warn: ‘Attention, we are doing this’. My role is to push the Ferrari men to innovate in a consistent and constructive way with the FIA”.
