Ferrari ‘burned’ in Monaco
The F1 paddock is preparing for the last race weekend before the summer break. Teams and drivers will be busy on the Hungaroring circuit for the Hungarian GP in Budapest.
Ferrari is coming off two excellent performances on circuits that were unfavorable on paper, such as Silverstone and Spa, and obviously there is great anticipation to see the SF-26 in action on a track that should enhance its qualities without exposing its flaws too much. The Maranello Scuderia, however, remembers that in Monaco, for example, being the favorite car on paper did not translate into a winning weekend.
“We arrive in Budapest after two encouraging weekends, in which we managed to maximize the result thanks to great teamwork – said Frederic Vasseur – this gives us confidence, but we also know that every Grand Prix is a story in itself. On paper, the Hungaroring might suit the characteristics of our car a bit better, but that alone guarantees nothing.”
“As always, execution will make the difference – added Vasseur – we will have to approach the weekend with the same concentration, discipline and attention to detail shown in recent races. We have a close-knit team, two super motivated drivers and we know we can count on the support of all our fans: the goal is to continue on our path, working well from Friday to put ourselves in the best conditions for qualifying and the race.”
