Hamilton and the simulator
On the sidelines of the Miami weekend, Lewis Hamilton expressed all his dissatisfaction with the weekend’s progress, blaming much of it on the setup chosen on the simulator, which had put him on the wrong path.
And so the English champion in Montreal did without simulator preparation and the second place under the checkered flag convinced him of the goodness of his choice.
Hamilton even explained that it would be interesting to opt for the opposite process, that is to try to correct the correlation himself, trying to compare the sensations experienced on the track with those of the simulator.

Smedley investigated, but…
During the High Performance podcast, Rob Smedley – engineer at Ferrari from 2004 to 2013 – said he tried to ask in the Cavallino box what was happening with the simulator: “I spoke with a couple of people, but they shrugged when I asked them the question.”
In short, there does not seem to be much clarity. Smedley concluded: “Hamilton said he did not work on the simulator before Canada and this made him feel free, because he felt it was dragging him in a direction he did not like. Then obviously for him now it is statistically true that if you don’t work on the simulator, then you go to the podium“, explained the Brit with a laugh.
