Always behind
Another nightmare weekend for Cadillac on the new Madring circuit, where the American team finished yet another GP outside the points zone: since the start of this championship, the first for this team, neither Valtteri Bottas nor Sergio Perez have ever managed to reach the top 10, with Cadillac consequently remaining the only one still at zero points.

A tough race
A very difficult weekend for the American team, with only Bottas managing to bring the car to the finish despite a contact at the start that caused problems to his MAC-26. For this reason, the Finn finished 18th, last among the classified drivers and 3 laps behind the winner Antonelli: “Unfortunately, there wasn’t much action for me today – commented the former Mercedes driver – I hoped for something more, but we knew the race pace would be difficult and the race proved challenging. We had to manage brake temperatures for a long time and the characteristics of this track accentuate many of our weaknesses; however, we know where we need to improve and we will keep working on it.”

Bad, but not too bad
Even worse was the fate of teammate Sergio Perez, who had actually managed to climb up to 15th place in the early stages of the GP. However, on lap 33, the Mexican brought the car back to the pits for a suspected cooling system failure: “Our race was going very well until we encountered a problem, probably with the cooling system. I believe this has been one of the best weekends so far for the team: we pushed to the maximum in every aspect. We fought with the cars around us, holding off Tsunoda before the stop and engaging in a constant duel with the Williams; we stayed less than a second behind Albon, so we can be satisfied with how the race was going.”
