Renault Twingo, the small electric car gets off to a good start in Italy

In the first quarter of the year Renault marks a solid commercial performance in Italy, with 26.266 passenger cars and commercial vehicles registered and a market share of 4,9%. The result translates into a volume growth of 12,3% compared to 2025, higher than the market average, and allows the brand to climb the manufacturer rankings up to fourth place (it was 7° in 2025). This progress also reflects the effectiveness and solidity of the Renault Network in the country, which confirms itself as one of the main players in the Italian market.

Renault is growing well in Italy

On the electrification front, Renault Italy continues its offensive. The Diamond brand positions itself on the podium in the private customer channel and records strong growth in the segment. In particular, full hybrid E-Tech cars are confirmed on the second step of the podium and mark an increase of 78,5% in sales to private customers. The Twingo E-Tech Electric city car also had a very positive start, with 500 orders collected even before the start of commercialization.

Electric Twingo starts well

Commercial success is supported by the product offering. The sixth generation of Clio, available from the beginning of the year, together with the B‑SUV Captur consolidate Renault’s presence in the B segment. Thanks to these models, the French manufacturer reaches second place in the segment in the first quarter (it was 7° in 2025), with sales growth of 17,7%. “The success of Clio and Captur and the excellent start of Twingo E‑Tech Electric confirm that our strategy is in line with market needs”, explained Sébastien Guigues, CEO Renault Italy.
