Renault is preparing to launch five new commercial vehicles by 2028 as part of the futuREady plan. In this journey, the new Trafic Van E-Tech Electric represents the first new model to embody the manufacturer’s new generation. An evolution designed to be “more technological, more efficient, and more comfortable.” The turning point is particularly significant for the European market, where vans play a central role in the daily activities of businesses and operators.
Renault focuses on commercial vehicles
The new Renault Trafic Van E-Tech Electric also marks a moment of historical continuity. For over 40 years, the Losange brand has supported professional operators with the Trafic range, developed since 1980 and reaching over 2.8 million units sold. Today, the new 100% electric version introduces a step change in performance and management, confirming the brand’s commitment to solutions truly integrated into working life. Designed and produced in Europe at the Sandouville plant in France, the van integrates a unique design and an industrial vision aimed at producing technology within the European context.
Starting with the new Trafic
The offer is completed with a range intended to cover the main needs of operators. Renault itself announces that the van version will be available for orders by the end of the year, while in 2027 the chassis cab and double cab variants will arrive. In practical terms, the new Trafic Van E-Tech Electric focuses on features of a true commercial vehicle, with up to 5.8 m3 of useful volume, 1.3 tons of payload, 2 tons of towing capacity, the ability to carry three europallets and a loading threshold height of only 53 cm.

Technology and comfort
Furthermore, thanks to the Software-Defined Van technology, the new vehicle is customizable and evolutive, helping to reduce TCO and improve electric efficiency and comfort. Not to mention the benefits for professional customers, supported by the triple offer of fittings (Converted by Renault, Qstomize, and a network of 300 certified outfitters) and the Renault uptimize program, which in 2027 aims to reduce downtime by up to 50% during maintenance through connected vehicle data and personalized handling, also including an integrated App to set fleet efficiency, performance, and safety parameters according to the manager’s needs.
