Ferrari was not the only one to take to the track on Wednesday, April 22, ten days before Formula 1’s anticipated return to Miami. Red Bull also decided to spend one of its two seasonal filming days at Silverstone, where Max Verstappen drove the RB22 to gather important information on the ongoing updates at Milton Keynes.

The four-time world champion was the only one to complete the 200 km available on the English track, fitting new components on which the team has invested time and resources in the hope of overturning the fate of this troubled start to the season.
Among the parts concerned are a new front wing, new sidepods, and a different rear wing activation system; the latter, as demonstrated by Ferrari with the “Macarena”, is among the elements with the greatest margin for development and gain.

Is the new engine configuration also being tested?
Ferrari and Red Bull’s decision to use their filming days today might not be a coincidence: both, in fact, have the opportunity to implement the adjustments and modifications to the power unit’s electrical energy management decided by the FIA, teams, and engine manufacturers in the last meeting on April 20. These modifications, barring sensational reversals on the day of the official vote, will become operational as early as the next event in Miami.
