Ferrari’s optimism
Ferrari heads into the 2026 World Championship with the ambition to best interpret the regulatory revolution and – after almost 20 years – return to winning. The date, set in 2022 by president John Elkann, has remained in the minds of the entire team, which worked hard over the winter, also showing interesting solutions at the rear of the SF-26. Solutions that indicate a search for innovation and creativity, things that in recent years had only been seen in flashes.

2026 is here and will start this weekend with the Melbourne event. Frederic Vasseur, this time, has avoided proclamations, choosing a low profile. Only the track will speak, and it is an approach much appreciated by vice president Piero Ferrari.

In an interview with Corriere dello Sport by Fulvio Solms, Ferrari highlights the work done on the SF-26: “The 2025 one was a car born with structural problems, difficult to fix. The season dragged on unsatisfactorily and development was abandoned early. But it was a smart decision because there was a completely new car to create. The team did a great job, the SF-26 was prepared on time and I am confident about the quality. I see it at all levels“.
