Piero Ferrari: “I hope we can give Leclerc great satisfaction”

An increasingly solid partnership

Charles Leclerc entered the Ferrari world in 2016, when he was still racing in GP3, crowning his journey in the Maranello Academy first with his F1 debut in Sauber in 2018 and then with his move to the main team in 2019 – as Kimi Raikkonen’s replacement.
His first victory with the Prancing Horse came six months later in Belgium, immediately followed by another a week later in Monza.
But Ferrari has not been able to give Leclerc a car capable of fighting for the title, but the Monegasque has not lost heart and has signed a new renewal with the red team – at 28 years old. A multi-year agreement, hoping that it will finally be the right time to win the title.

Piero Ferrari and the special feeling with Leclerc

Speaking in Monaco to Sky Italia, vice-president Piero Ferrari commented on Charles Leclerc’s renewal: I think it’s a very beautiful thing. We renewed before Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo is his city, his country, where he was born. It’s a great event, I’m very happy. I’ve been following him for a long time and I was present at his first victory in Monza. There’s a special feeling with Charles and I hope we can give him great satisfaction. What convinced me about Leclerc is how he does everything with great naturalness; he evidently has great instinct, great qualities, great reflexes. He does everything very easily, I liked that very much.”
