After announcing the arrival of the new Corsa GSE by the end of the year, Opel chose the Nurburgring to fine-tune its fully electric hot hatch. The Eifel circuit, known for being among the most demanding and selective in the world, was the setting for the final dynamic tests: an ideal testing ground to verify the vehicle’s behavior and reactions in extreme and repeatable conditions. The German manufacturer’s goal is clear: to transform the Corsa GSE into the most powerful and convincing production version of the Corsa family, with a chassis setup that enhances both daily drivability and more pronounced performance.

During the sessions on the track, engineers focused primarily on the calibration of the chassis, steering, and electronic stability control (ESC), fundamental elements for managing the immediate torque and delivery typical of 100% electric powertrains. Marcus Lott, member of the Opel Executive Committee and Senior Vice President of Stellantis Lead Engineering Central Europe, emphasized how the experience at the Nurburgring served to refine those very details that make a hot hatch emotionally engaging but also safe and controllable.

Debut at the Paris Motor Show 2026
The commercial presentation of the high-performance version is set for the Paris Motor Show (October 12-18), where the Opel Corsa GSE will showcase its distinctive design details and the sporty character that will set it apart from the crowd. The tests at the Nurburgring serve as a technical guarantee: it’s not just about aesthetics, but a mechanical and software configuration designed to offer excitement and precision on the road.
