Historic August for OMODA & JAECOO in Italy. The Chery Group brand made its entry for the first time in the Top 10 of the market, closing the month in ninth place overall with 2,883 registrations. The result consolidates growth that has continued steadily since the Group arrived in our country in July 2024, supported by a range of SUVs and crossovers that includes petrol, full hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and even 100% electric powertrains.

OMODA & JAECOO enters top 10 in Italy

The Italian success fits into a broader context of strong acceleration in the sector globally. In August, in fact, 65,576 cars were sold, an increase of 101.7% compared to the same month in 2025 and the sixth consecutive month above 60,000 units. At the same time, electrified vehicles accounted for 49,712 units, registering an increase of 167.5%. From January to August, global sales reached 514,425, bringing the total since the debut of the Chinese brand to over 1.3 million vehicles. JAECOO 5 is the best-selling model of the month: 29,520 units worldwide.

Positive August elsewhere too

Looking at Europe, the most significant boost comes from Great Britain, where OMODA & JAECOO rose to second place with 6,238 registrations and a 6.62% share. Three models appear in the British Top 10 for August: JAECOO 7 (second with 2,022 units), JAECOO 5 (fourth with 1,670), and OMODA 5 (sixth with 1,465). The brand, less than two years after entering the country, has already surpassed 100,000 vehicles sold, with 67,971 registered in 2026. Meanwhile, in Spain, deliveries grew in August by 43.3% (2,312 units), with a 3.4% share and a January-August total of 25,465 (+80.2%). In France, the brand registered 1,518 vehicles (1.64% share). Outside Europe, Australia rose by 340.6% with 2,200 units, while Brazil marked the seventh consecutive monthly record, with 5,902 registrations and surpassing 28,000 vehicles in 2026.
