Ogura, what a blow! Left thumb fracture, misses Aragón

Ai Ogura has suffered a left hand injury, and therefore will not participate in the Aragón weekend, the 13th round of the MotoGP World Championship. The news was announced a few minutes ago by Trackhouse.

The number 79 suffered a fracture in the thumb area during training in Japan. Once back in Europe, as specified by the Trackhouse team, he underwent a medical examination which found the fracture. He will undergo surgery tomorrow.

Lorenzo Savadori will race in place of Ogura. For the rider from Emilia, this will be his second seasonal appearance after Jerez de la Frontera.

For Ogura, this is a significant setback, which will make him lose very precious points. The Japanese rider had made consistency his prerogative, and after the Silverstone crash, he needed to regain momentum. Now, with a 37-point deficit that will almost certainly widen, Ogura’s championship dream becomes much more complicated.
