Pirelli, option activated to stay in F1 in 2028

Pirelli will continue to be the sole tire supplier for the F1 World Championship until the end of the 2028 season. The FIA announced a few minutes ago that it has exercised the option provided in the last renewal, extending the collaboration with the Milanese company for another year. The decision was made by mutual agreement with Formula One Management (FOM) and Pirelli itself, which naturally also remains a supplier for the preparatory championships.

The extension was already contemplated in the contract signed in 2023, with which Pirelli had renewed its commitment in F1 for the three-year period 2025-2027. With the addition of 2028, there will therefore be 18 consecutive World Championships with the Milanese company as the sole tire supplier.
