ADUO, what’s happening?
Before the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, the classification into F1 engine manufacturers’ competitiveness tiers and thus the ADUO assignments for each power unit manufacturer should have been made official.
But, as is known, there was a certain delay due to discussions about the 2027 engines and the tiers were communicated confidentially to the teams between Saturday and Sunday in Monte Carlo.

And the results generated a clear astonishment in the paddock, especially because Red Bull was chosen as the benchmark and – surprisingly – Mercedes was placed in the 2% tier and will be able to update its power unit.
Despite the rumors, however, the official announcement continues to be delayed.
Red Bull requests a review from the FIA
According to what was gathered in the Barcelona paddock by FormulaPassion.it, the ADUO results will not be made public even this week.
Red Bull in fact, was surprised to find itself alone as the benchmark for engines and has asked the FIA to re-verify the data that led to this classification – which should therefore be considered provisional.

The Federation has accepted Red Bull’s request and will therefore review the ICE measurements (the only part of the power unit considered by the parameters) collected in the first five GPs from the power sensors installed on each car – which are the basis of the first ADUO assignment.
This does not mean that the FIA has made mistakes, as the data that emerged in recent days could also be confirmed, but in any case, a new verification has been initiated to dispel any doubts.
The answers should – the conditional is clearly mandatory – arrive before the Austrian Grand Prix on June 28.
