The Ferrari driver spun at Turn 3 and hit the barriers damaging his SF-26. Leclerc restarted and finished the race in sixth position battling with Russell and Verstappen.

The penalty – a ‘posthumous’ drive-through – demotes Leclerc to eighth position, Lewis Hamilton moves up to sixth and Franco Colapinto to seventh. Now Leclerc is at -41 from Andrea Kimi Antonelli in the drivers’ standings.
