Shuffle of appointments at Nissan’s top management. The Japanese company announced that Alfonso Albaisa, Corporate Executive, Global Design, will leave his current position starting October 1 and will serve as a consultant until December 31, the date on which the executive will conclude his professional career. “Albaisa has made a significant contribution to the development of Nissan’s global stylistic identity and to strengthening the company’s global reputation in design”, the Japanese company said.

Nissan changes top management
At the same time, Matthew Weaver, currently Senior Design Director, will be appointed Corporate Executive, Global Design, taking over the position currently held by Albaisa. Part of the Japanese group since 2001, he contributed to the development of Qashqai, Juke, and other strategic models for Europe and Japan. Nissan itself has stated that Weaver has extensive leadership experience in the global design organization, which includes Infiniti, partnership projects, and programs related to light commercial vehicles.
Collaboration until December
Weaver will report directly to CEO Ivan Espinosa. Not only that: Nissan also announced that, to ensure a smooth transition, Alfonso Albaisa and Matthew Weaver will work together until next December, to guarantee the handover while maintaining operational continuity. The company expressed its sincere appreciation to Albaisa for the leadership, dedication, and lasting contributions made during his prestigious career.
