Mercedes GLA changes face. And at market launch it is presented in a fully electric version. But only at launch. The Star brand has officially unveiled it: it comes with an even sportier personality, thanks to a set of details designed to enhance dynamism and solidity. The sporty proportions of the new Mercedes SUV such as a lower silhouette, a longer wheelbase and a wider rear track create a more grounded stance. But also the presence of muscular and well-defined shoulders contributes to a more decisive image. While the wheels flush with the body amplify the “performance” effect of the whole, making the GLA more agile even when stationary.

The new Mercedes GLA
The look, however, is not just form. But it is also technology. The new electric GLA brings to the forefront the iconic grille already known in the higher segments, reinterpreted for the world of compact SUVs. The result is a high-tech illuminated element that gives the crossover an immediately recognizable presence, with a distinctive character that underlines the “status” of this model. The overall impression is that of a modern and intentional car, capable of combining elegance and technicality in a coherent visual language.
Four trims and the Night Package
Making the GLA even more personal are new versions and equipment packages, designed to offer greater possibilities to express one’s style. The range consists of four trim lines for the first time and the Night Package. Each model is offered as standard in the new Style Line, which includes, among other things, the iconic grille with chrome frame and silver chrome panel, High Performance LED headlights with high beam assistant, front and rear aprons, decorative strips on the polished aluminum side skirts and door panels with chrome inserts, as well as 18 to 19″ alloy wheels.

Redesigned interiors
The cabin also follows this direction: completely redesigned, it combines floating shapes, selected materials and a strong digital presence. The interior includes a multifunction sports steering wheel in synthetic ARTICO leather, comfort seats in black fabric or black fabric/ARTICO synthetic leather, as well as black or ivory beige synthetic leather available on request. Technologically, the MBUX Superscreen extends across the entire dashboard integrating driver, central and passenger displays. The experience is also enhanced by the 3D Burmester surround sound, designed to offer a particularly immersive sound experience.

Mercedes-style spaciousness
The new GLA then expands the boundaries of everyday life with space designed for every need: more headroom and legroom on every seat and greater luggage capacity, thanks to a spacious cabin, a versatile loading compartment and a 107-liter frunk. The model is also oriented towards adventures, with all-wheel drive and dedicated driving modes such as TERRAIN, as well as the “transparent hood” function designed to make off-road journeys safer and more engaging.

Three electric versions at launch
For the market launch in November, customers will be able to choose from three fully electric models. The GLA 200 with 165 kW mounts a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery with an energy capacity of 58 kWh. The GLA 250+ instead develops a power of 200 kW. Completing the offer is the GLA 350 4MATIC with 260 kW, the flagship model of the electric range that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. These last two models are equipped with an NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt) battery with a usable energy capacity of 85 kWh. A further model with a 71 kWh NMC battery will follow at the beginning of 2027. Not only that: also at the beginning of next year, the new GLA will be launched with an efficient high-tech hybrid powertrain, initially available in two power levels, with front and all-wheel drive.
