OK from the Municipality
Excellent news has arrived from the last session of the Monza City Council, which has finally given the ‘green light’ to the modernization interventions necessary to make the National Circuit more modern and welcoming, as well as closer to the demands of Formula 1. The purpose of the works, which will begin in the coming weeks, will be to ensure a more secure future on the calendar after the contract expiration scheduled for 2031.

The plan
The 40 million euro project essentially involves three interventions: the first will be the permanent covering of the pit building, with a structure of over 5.000 square meters, largely glazed and with photovoltaic panels. High-level hospitality areas will be built right here, permanently replacing the temporary ones set up for each GP. In addition, there will be a new press room of approximately 1.794 square meters that will host media, FIA offices, and refreshment areas. The works for the construction of the latter will begin in the coming days, while all other interventions will start at the end of this year’s Italian Grand Prix. Finally, there will be the new race direction in the Parc Fermé area and near the circuit’s medical center. This two-story building will be larger and more technologically advanced, with glazed offices overlooking the track and a more modern control room. The plan envisages the completion of the interventions by the next edition of the GP.
