With this dialogue between a euphoric Jorge Martin and an incredulous – if not even ‘disgusted’ – Pedro Acosta the post-Sprint video of the United States GP opens, featuring Martin, Acosta and Francesco Bagnaia, the three who finished in the top-3 at the end of Saturday’s race in Texas (Acosta would later be penalized and demoted due to irregular tire pressure).

The three riders discuss the race that just ended and there is no shortage of very interesting technical insights. Martin, for example, highlights how difficult it is to overtake Joan Mir because the Honda rider is very effective under braking, an observation to which Bagnaia adds that even in terms of the engine, the Hondas have improved and are no longer easy prey on the straight.

Speaking of bike performance, Martin does not hide from Bagnaia that he has noticed that the Ducati is indeed no longer the bike that dominated the category. “You guys have lost something with the load, I feel it”, Martin’s words to Bagnaia, with Pecco replying by highlighting how much the Aprilia has improved under braking instead. Martin then, with great transparency, concludes by admitting that at this moment he can only ‘copy Bezzecchi’: “I do what Bez does, what he does I do too”, the words of the 2024 world champion.
