The nine-time world champion stated that Bezzecchi’s crash caused him to relax too much at the start of the race, the moment when he was overtaken by Jorge Martin: “After I saw Bezzecchi crash, I relaxed too much – Marc Marquez said to the microphones of TNT Sports – Martin’s overtake surprised me and I immediately tried to react but drove poorly and made mistakes.”
“I told myself ‘yesterday you won with this bike and these tires’ – Marquez added – and so little by little I got back into the rhythm and went on to win. Scoring 37 points here is really important, but next week we will already be back on track, so let’s turn the page and think about the next one.”

Marquez could not avoid admitting that being the leader of the World Championship is crazy considering that after Mugello he was 102 points away from the top of the standings. “I absolutely don’t know what I’m doing at the top of the World Championship, they gave me a gift, I don’t have to return the favor because today a rider crashed and in Austria it could be me that rider”, Marquez concluded.
