Ducati Lenovo all over Spain
When it became clear that the long relationship between Ducati and Pecco Bagnaia was worn out, the Borgo Panigale management looked around to find the ideal replacement for the two-time Italian world champion.
The choice fell on Pedro Acosta, 22-year-old from KTM, still looking for his first MotoGP win, but unanimously recognized as one of the best talents on the grid.
In 2027 and 2028 the Lenovo team will therefore rely on an all-Spanish pairing made up of Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta.

The relationship between Marquez and Acosta
There is great respect between Marquez and Acosta, as both have explained over these two and a half years in which they have shared the track in the premier class.
But the dynamic between the two will certainly be interesting, given that between Marc and Pedro the age difference is significant: a full 11 years.

In an interview given to the London newspaper Inews, the nine-time world champion was asked who will be “the next Marquez”.
This was his answer: “The rider currently in MotoGP who has the talent to lead the new generation is Pedro Acosta. He is 10 or 11 years younger than me and is a very talented rider. And next year we will race together for Ducati with the Lenovo team, with the best bike on the grid.”

Marquez then concluded by naming three other riders who he believes could have a bright future: “There are David Alonso, Brian Uriarte and Maximo Quiles, from the lower categories. I don’t want to name names because it’s difficult, but these guys are the future of this sport. But now at 33 years old I still keep them behind me, so we’ll see…”.
