MotoGP Silverstone, Marquez restarts from P6
Marc Marquez ended the MotoGP practice day at Silverstone with the sixth fastest time. A position that for the nine-time world champion reflects the difference in values on the track between his Ducati and the Aprilia. Not only that of Marco Bezzecchi, who shattered the track record, but also of Jorge Martin, Ai Ogura and Raul Fernandez.

The world champion knew perfectly well the speed of the RS-GP on a flowing circuit like Silverstone, but perhaps he hoped for a better time result from this Friday.
Marquez’s words
“It was clear that the Aprilias would fly, for now we are between fifth and seventh place. On the fast lap I did not hold back, in fact I took risks“, this was Marquez’s comment on the first day of MotoGP track work after the summer break. “Bezzecchi is setting the pace; we will see during the rest of the weekend how much gap they will give us“.

“When I arrive at circuits where I struggle, I ask the team for calm. They give ideas, but sometimes the problem is not the bike, but the rider“, he added. “I am happy with the physical work done this summer, because in certain sections I can be a bit more aggressive and I believe I have a slightly higher potential compared to Assen“.
Friday at Silverstone confirmed the strength of Aprilia, but Marquez as usual worked a lot with the race in mind and will certainly be in the fight for the podium and the final victory. Also to put further pressure on Jorge Martin’s shoulders, now only +18.
