The first Honda flag bearer
Optimistic on the eve of the German GP, the good feelings of Luca Marini rewarded the Honda rider, who with the eighth place achieved at Sachsenring extends his positive streak of results in the points zone started at the beginning of this championship. Author of an excellent start, #10 was the first Honda rider to reach the finish line, in a race that saw him progressively catch up with Fabio Quartararo, however failing to complete the overtaking on the future rider of the Japanese house.

The ‘photocopy’ of Assen
In any case, Marini expressed all his satisfaction for his performance, which now brings him 8 points behind Alex Marquez, who fell during the race: “We did our best, at the moment this is the potential we have, so I am satisfied with what we have done. Like at Assen, the team and I worked well to finish the week in a better position than when we started it, and the lessons from the Sprint race were very useful“.
“In this first half of the season I think we have tried everything, every setup, every component and every detail, I have to thank my guys for their work. I remain optimistic that we can find something in the second half of the year to take a step forward, because we should not be happy with eighth place. Now there is only one race in the next six weeks, a good opportunity to focus on body and mind and see what the engineers will be able to discover for the second half of the season.”
Mir disaster
A race to forget, on the contrary, for Joan Mir. The Spaniard, close to his teammate in the early stages, actually fell on the 7th lap of the race, with the mistake corresponding to his seventh retirement of the season: “It’s a shame to end the weekend this way. I started the race well and was close to Luca, just waiting for the right moment to attack and then push the Yamaha riders. I lost the front at the last corner and that’s how our Sunday ended. Fortunately, I’m fine, but obviously this situation is really frustrating. Now we have some time to recharge and come back after the break with a clear mind.”
