Leclerc’s problem in FP1: it was not necessary to replace the power unit

According to what FormulaPassion.it has learned, the ‘blackout’ that stopped the SF-26 a handful of minutes from the checkered flag (without allowing it to reach the pits despite having entered the pit lane) has already been resolved by the Scuderia’s technicians, with Leclerc regularly present in FP2.

No engine replacement for Leclerc

Despite the work carried out on the rear of the car, FormulaPassion.it can confirm that it was not necessary to replace the power unit. This is most likely the first unit of the season, the one prior to the update obtained with the ADUO and which continues to be used in the first free practice sessions.

Leclerc finished FP1 of the Hungarian Grand Prix in the lead, giving 484 and 543 thousandths respectively to Max Verstappen’s Red Bull and Lewis Hamilton’s second Ferrari.
