Charles Leclerc does not want to leave anything to chance at Monza. “I drive for Ferrari and I want Ferrari to win the World Championship: I will definitely believe it as long as the math tells me it is possible“, these are Leclerc’s words at Monza. “It is something I am not thinking about at the moment, anyway, because I focus race by race and try to get the most out of the car; then at the end of the year we will do the math“.

So, then, maximum concentration on this race weekend after a Zandvoort full of controversies: “We come from a race where the execution was not perfect, although over the course of the year we have not done badly in this respect. It is true that with these cars it is much more difficult to execute a perfect weekend, I am not just talking about strategy but especially about the concept of these new cars with this engine: as soon as you go a little off optimal we can lose a lot of time. Compared to others I think the weak point is more the engine, and certainly the ADUO-2 represents a step in the right direction. I can’t wait to try it tomorrow on a track that on paper can be more difficult for us, but if we do things the right way there is potential to do very well on Sunday“.
Monza inevitably represents something different for Leclerc. Here the Monegasque has already lived unforgettable days with Ferrari, winning in 2019 and 2024. Making it a hat-trick would be a dream that would allow Leclerc to surpass Alberto Ascari, Phil Hill, Clay Regazzoni and Rubens Barrichello in number of wins at the Autodromo with the Red, and thus become the only “chaser” of Michael Schumacher (five wins with the Prancing Horse).
