Hamilton charged for Monza
Lewis Hamilton is about to experience his second Monza weekend as a Ferrari driver in great style. The seven-time world champion arrived at the Autodromo behind the wheel of a splendid Ferrari F40 found in a garage and restored just in time for Thursday of the Italian GP. Nothing was left to chance in terms of image, an area in which Hamilton excels without any doubt in the paddock. Now, however, the fans want to dream on the track as well, and the Brit is ready to satisfy them.

Hamilton’s words
“Hopefully the new engine helps. Every little thing can help. We have carried a 4-tenth gap on the straight all season,” Hamilton commented on the new power unit that Ferrari will bring to the track in Monza thanks to the second ADUO token. “I am really very proud to see how hard everyone is working at the factory, I see a different focus this year compared to last year. And I really see a new beginning, both because in 2025 we didn’t have a clear goal like in 2026 and because it took time on my part to convince Ferrari that something needed to change that the team didn’t think needed changing. We have done a fantastic job, with extraordinary results. We haven’t closed the entire gap yet, but every weekend something new arrives, and this shows how much we push. I am still fully convinced that we have everything needed to win.”
“Being a Ferrari driver is the best feeling. It is an honor and a privilege to come to Italy for this iconic race, with the most iconic and best team in the world. It is truly phenomenal to experience it for the second consecutive year,” continued number 44 in the press conference.
“I haven’t seen the livery yet, but we have those seven stars and it’s a nice feeling because I also have seven stars! I feel them too, somehow. It was beautiful to see it on the Red, I always chose it when I played on the computer. I had the privilege to race against him and now I have the privilege to live that experience in Ferrari. He was a great leader and did a fantastic job throughout his career.”
In Monza, Hamilton has the chance to reduce part of the 59-point gap that separates him from Kimi Antonelli in the World Championship: the Italian will start from the back of the grid due to an engine replacement.
