Interviewed in the latest episode of the popular podcast BSMT, hosted by Gianluca Gazzoli, Leclerc spoke about his special relationship with the red team. The Monegasque has been with the Prancing Horse since he was a boy, grew up in the Ferrari Driver Academy, has been a regular driver in red since 2019, and it is not ruled out that he might decide to spend the rest of his career with the Maranello team. A love that transcends the profession and is decidedly unusual in today’s hyper-professional F1.

“Being at Ferrari is truly special. I was on the side of the fan who watched all the GPs on Sundays hoping that the red car would win, and now I am in the car and I receive all this support directly – Leclerc said – I still feel the same passion I had then, even if now obviously, being a driver, I cannot afford to have certain emotions while driving. But the passion and love I have for this team is intact. This is what makes Ferrari special: it is a brand that unites all generations, from children to the elderly. Everyone dreams of the same thing: seeing Ferrari at the top“.

The world title, even this year, seems like a pipe dream with such a dominant Mercedes, but Leclerc is nonetheless committed with all his strength to trying to make the SF-26 progress: “This year development is super important, it is fundamental. There is a lot of work to do in Maranello to develop new parts and try things in the simulator. We must all push in the same direction to bring Ferrari back to the top“, the Monegasque concluded.
