Antonelli champion?
With the first three races of the season completed, Andrea Kimi Antonelli holds the championship lead thanks to two victories achieved in China and Japan, the last race on the calendar before the scheduled return to Miami. In the midst of this long five-week break, many have expressed their opinion on the talent of the very young driver from Bologna, identified by some as a potential 2026 world champion.
Kubica’s advice
Sharing this conviction is also a former Formula 1 driver like Robert Kubica, winner of the 2008 Canadian GP and now ready to compete in the WEC championship at the wheel of the Ferrari 499P of the AF Corse team. The Pole, interviewed by SportMediaset, wanted however to offer some advice to Antonelli: “I hope he will focus only on driving, because every now and then I see him doing too much bull**** on Instagram – he commented – clearly nowadays they bring a lot of interest, but right now he must not waste energy, he must focus on a single goal which is to fight for and win the world championship“.

A goal that according to Kubica will not be unreachable for Antonelli, provided that the latter focuses on his goals: “I don’t see why not – he continued – so I am very happy for him especially because Formula 1 is a sport that puts a lot of pressure on you. In my opinion, he had a lot of it in the past, especially last year, but he has people around him who love him, who have invested a lot of time, money and have seen a unique talent. Now he is paying them back. The road is still long, but he is well aware”.
