The Monegasque wants a repeat
In 2024 Charles Leclerc finally broke what seemed like a curse regarding the home race in Monaco. In 2021 Leclerc took pole position but the accident at the Piscine chicane then led the next day to the discovery of a gearbox failure on the lap that should have taken him to the starting grid.

The following year everything seemed perfect, but the rain and a crazy strategy from the Ferrari pit wall dropped Leclerc from first to fourth place at the finish. The 2024 edition was indeed one of redemption, a year ago the repeat slipped away because in Qualifying Lando Norris managed to outsmart Leclerc, then defending the race lead the next day.
Now for Leclerc the Monaco GP represents the best opportunity to redeem a difficult weekend in Canada: “The feeling will come back, in Monaco everything is different, I’m not worried – Leclerc’s words to Sky – is the Ferrari SF-26 a ‘Monaco car’? Let’s say it’s more of a Monaco car than a Canada one, but we’ll see, because Mercedes is also strong in corners.”
