The debut of the new Jaguar Type 01 is approaching. The British car manufacturer has revealed the first details about the interior of its new electric GT: they are clearly inspired by those of the Type 00 concept car, and the company describes them as “the vision of a concept car brought to production.” Specifically, the most distinctive design element is the large “central spine,” defined by Jaguar itself as “a distinctive work of art,” which runs lengthwise through the entire cabin between the front and rear seats.

The new Jaguar Type 01
This spine divides the cabin into four sections, each with its own seat. Additionally, the new Type 01 features a low and sleek roof with large panoramic windows, while the driving position appears lowered and the dashboard is notably free of instruments. In front of the driver is a large digital information screen, while a small touchscreen console for climate control and infotainment commands rises from the center section. The company calls it “hidden on-demand technology,” moreover integrated directly into the vehicle’s architecture. Finally, the dashboard design presents a clear division between the driver’s area and the front passenger’s area, complete with “bar” motifs also found on the upper edge of the hood.
First details on the interior
According to Autocar, the absence of a traditional interior rearview mirror and rear window stands out: all of this should be replaced by a digital rear camera. Unusually, the screen is positioned at the base of the windshield, at the height of the exterior rearview mirrors. Jaguar cites travertine stone and rich textures of handcrafted fabrics as sources of inspiration for the cabin, with elements selected to enhance the sense of luxury. Among all, a mention goes to a finish inspired by brass on the central spine and the upper part of the doors, on which the jaguar logo is embossed.
