MotoGP Hungary, Sprint Classification
The Hungarian GP Sprint went down smooth and calm like a glass of water. Marc Marquez served it to us, returning to success with a huge smile: a perfect performance from the nine-time world champion, who defended pole position and – with consistent gains – built a fortress that Pedro Acosta could not conquer. For the Ducati rider, it was little more than a stroll, worth much more than 12 points, as it came eight days after returning to the track. A sporting triumph, a strong message to all competitors.

It certainly cannot be said that the Hungarian short race offered much spectacle: the race was decided in turn 1, benefiting Marco Bezzecchi, who made a good start; the only headache for the Romagnolo rider was Fermin Aldeguer, his shadow in the first part of the Sprint. An error by the Spaniard on the fourth lap, however, relieved pressure on the championship leader, who now commands with a 20-point margin over Jorge Martin, who finished sixth today.
Top-5 for Raul Fernandez and Aldeguer, with points also for Diogo Moreira, Enea Bastianini, and Francesco Bagnaia. “Pecco”, as well as his 2nd row “teammate” Fabio Di Giannantonio, paid for a bad start that he couldn’t recover from, also due to the winding layout of Balaton Park. Outside the top-10, Toprak Razgatlioglu’s 13th place is noteworthy, today the best of the Yamahas.
