In short, Marquez is managing a situation decidedly far from optimal. An obvious physical difficulty, which he has decided not to talk about. Which he does not want to use as an excuse. He only briefly mentioned: “My arm will no longer be the one from 2019, nor the one from a year ago. I will have to adapt”.
An adaptation that is showing a new Marquez, decidedly accountant-like, who no longer risks at the limit – how many crashes has he had since returning to the track? – and who has had to make a virtue out of necessity. And he has shortened the gap from the leader from 102 to 19 points, despite everything.

Not simply the scars left by the 7 surgeries, but an evident muscular and structural asymmetry between the right upper limb and the left one.

In particular the right deltoid appears clearly reduced both in volume and definition compared to the left, as it lacks the classic roundness of the anterior and medial head. But not only that, the biceps also shows marked hypotrophy, being shorter and flatter than the uninjured one. As well as the junction point between the right pectoralis major and the armpit shows a clear asymmetry.
With a situation like this it is clear that what Marc Marquez is doing on the track these weeks – 4 wins in the last 6 GPs – takes on an even greater value and gives a measure of the enormous talent and mental resilience of this champion.
And perhaps also of the absolute value of his rivals…
