The roadmap in Maranello is clear
As highlighted by the latest issue of Autosprint, the ADUO is not a switch that, once activated, can magically give a power unit the horsepower that currently separates it from the best in the class. Regardless of the FIA verdict that will determine how much Ferrari can intervene on its power unit, the online edition of Il Corriere della Sera has outlined the Scuderia Maranello’s roadmap on the timing and methods of intervention for the development of the power unit.
According to what was reported by corriere.it, Ferrari’s goal was to build an evolved power unit to be mounted at the Belgian GP (scheduled from July 17 to 19) on which to then work as quickly as possible through any ADUO permissions after the Canadian GP. The areas of intervention concern a revision of materials and an evolved architecture that can be installed on the SF-26 through appropriate hardware modifications and to the cooling system.

The fact that the FIA has already established that in 2027 the ratio between the thermal component and the electric component regarding power will change – from the current 50/50 to 60/40 in favor of the thermal component – will impose new changes to the size of the components, a factor that all manufacturers will have to take into account when they start intervening on power units using the ADUO.
