Ferrari, words of surrender from Hamilton
Two Monza GPs as a Ferrari driver and two sixth places for Lewis Hamilton. After the pre-race declarations, with Charles Leclerc even talking about a one-two, the Red team once again fell apart at the crucial moment.

Leclerc had two horrible laps, in which he ruined not only his race ending against the wall at Alboreto, but also Hamilton’s. Already at the Prima Variante, in fact, the Monegasque sent the seven-time world champion into the gravel, who lost five positions without having the pace to recover.

In post-race interviews, Hamilton was asked if a clear hierarchy within the team could have avoided the clash with Leclerc. And the Briton gave a very significant answer both about what he would have wanted from Ferrari and about the developments of the World Championship.
“Yes, we are already too far from that phase. It’s too late now. Today I lost a lot of points against all the drivers ahead of me“.
Paraphrasing the seven-time world champion, there is a double criticism of Frederic Vasseur’s management. Not only should there have been team orders, but even if these came from Madrid, they would be too late, because now the gap to Kimi Antonelli is 76 points. Too many to dream, even for someone like Hamilton.
